Metallization
Metallized films are plastic films coated with a very thin layer of metal. They give packaging a shiny metallic finish while also adding barrier protection against factors such as light, moisture, and oxygen.
Pak Packages uses vacuum metallization to produce films for different flexible packaging applications. The Pak-Met process also combines flexographic printing with metallization, allowing detailed graphics to be printed on the film during the process.
Different finishes are available, including stripe and selective metallization. A ZnS source is also used for decorative holographic films. Production speeds can reach up to 400 m/min, depending on the application and material.
